About

Umehibiki in Okuhita Onsen is a hidden ryokan that opened in 2017, offering spectacular views of the Hibiki Valley's landscape that resembles a traditional shan shui painting. The unique plum-themed property features detached rooms with private open-air onsen baths and connects guests to the region's famous plum blossoms through its attached "Plum Wine Brewery" and thoughtfully designed interiors. Visitors particularly enjoy the excellent kaiseki meals paired with a wide variety of famous plum wines, along with the atmospheric bar area where they can unwind with Japanese whiskey while listening to selected vinyl records after a relaxing soak in the therapeutic hot springs.
